Maegonsaetan
An abstracted portrait of 19th-century explorer, nurse and missionary Kate Marsden in the outfit she wore on her epic voyage to assist leprosy patients in Yakutia, Maegonsaetan was made from a daub mixture containing shredded school uniform, liquid soap, lime putty, cattle excrement and Christmas Pudding - one of Marsden's main rations during her journey. The surface was painted with various motifs of fossil fuel extraction and an image of Queen Cynethryth lashed to a boat.
